In 2024, while studying Art History, I fell in love with the work of Irish artist Harry Clarke (1889-1931)
There was something about his use of colour, especially blues and greens that I found captivating. Researching his life and works opened the door to an incredible talent, culminating in a stunning body of work packed into a short life.
The ethos behind History On Glass is to bring works back to life.
Using a blend of sympathetic restoration, I remove the ravages of decades of dirt and grime, back the the original vibrancy that makes Harry Clarke's works so special.
The black struts and metal grilles that you see in many photographs are removed, back to the artist's original colour palette and original vision. The sublimation process uses high quality inks, that turn to a gas when heated. The tempered glass I use make it safer than standard glass, finished with a black border and metal corners,

Erected in 1923, St Joseph's church, Terenure, Dublin.
This design perfectly shows his illustrative roots, with trememdous detail. The backgroud images are inspired by stories from the Old Testament. Breaking with the tradition of serene faces in wonder, he inculded more naturalistic expressions.
The Latin text visible reads "Benedicta tu in mulieribus et benedictus fructus ventris tui", translating to "
